Gothic Inspiration
Hey scouts! Today I will be posting the first of hopefully many inspiration posts (feels like everything is a first time on here). Every year when summer comes around I always have the urge to wear/want/buy non-summer clothes. For example, this past week I went to the biggest Goodwill ever (it even has a café in it!) and bought the cutest corduroy overalls, but if I wear them now I will for sure have a heat stroke. I always want to wear warm things in summer or you might say that I want something I can't have (a cold summer in Southern California). I am telling you all this because I've been really loving vintage Goth-like things/people/clothes like the Munsters and Vampira, you know black, long-sleeved things (the opposite of summer apparel). I am so inspired by horror and Goth that I actually painted my interpretation of the Bride of Frankenstein for art class this year and she came out pretty good. Since painting the Bride of Frankenstein I have began to compile a folder of pictures that I appropriately entitled Goth.
I have yet to see this movie ( The Bride of Frankenstein), but it hasn't stopped me from loving this scene.
Both of Carroll Borland in Mark of the Vampire which stars Bela Lugosi, who almost always plays Dracula.
I love the Munsters and I don't watch the show nearly as much as I should.
I love Lily Munster's little parasol
The Goth Teen Queen herself, Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice
Vampira looking hauntingly stunning.
I would love to look like this at the beach.
Words cannot describe how perfect Elizabeth Taylor looks as Cleopatra
The Mummy, a great movie with the Horror King Himself, Boris Karloff.
And last, but not least Morticia Addams
Pictures without a source are from tumblr and if you are interested in any of the movies the link is provided in their title. I hope you guys enjoy this inspiration post as much as enjoyed putting it together. Until next time scouts!
xx,
Cristianne
